Why Tardy Orthodontics?

About Our Doctors

Dr. Shelley Tardy established Tardy Orthodontics in 1993. Her son grew up working in the family business and developed a passion for the industry at an early age. Dr. Calvin Tardy decided to carry on her legacy by also pursuing a path in Orthodontics. Their collaboration in business has created a nice harmony as they continue to strengthen each other. As the saying goes, “iron sharpens iron.” They are both passionate about creating beautiful smiles that boost self-confidence and improve overall dental health. Dr. Calvin Tardy’s extreme understanding of computers and technology are an added bonus to the practice as the Orthodontic industry increases both digitally and through 3D imaging. These Board-Certified Orthodontists are excited about the endless possibilities as they continue working alongside each other.

Mission Work

Through the years, Dr. Shelley Tardy has been active in leadership roles in her church and civic organizations. Dr. Tardy co-founded a non-profit organization that conducts a women’s running event in Arlington every year to raise financial support for Safehaven of Tarrant County. She managed the operations of this event for ten years. Through this effort their committee has been able to bring thousands of women together to support this cause. During her time leading this organization, they donated over $250,000 to SafeHaven of Tarrant County, which provides resources to female domestic violence victims and their children.

Dr. Shelley Tardy launched a local chapter of the non-profit, Smile for a Lifetime Foundation, as a way to give back and invest in the future of local underserved children. Smile for a Lifetime Foundation’s mission is to create self-confidence, inspire hope, and change the lives of children in our community through the gift of a smile.

She has not only helped people in her own community, but in both Ethiopia and Guatemala on dental mission trips. She conducted free clinics with other dental professionals in remote villages that lack appropriate dental care.

Both Drs. Tardy appreciate having the opportunity to provide dental care to those in need. They have been involved with Texas Mission of Mercy through the Texas Dental Association. Texas Mission of Mercy (TMOM) is a mobile dental clinic that travels around the state providing free basic dental care to Texans with limited resources and/or access to care.[/text_output][text_output]
